WOMEN find housework therapeutic and cleaning makes them feel in control of their house.
Domestic chores take up an average nine years, two months and 25 days over a lifetime, a survey of 2000 British women shows.
Despite spending longer in the workplace, nearly half the respondents described themselves as "cleanaholics".
Seven out of ten women questioned admitted they could not leave the house in a mess without worrying about it.
More than half felt "depressed" if their house was messy, while 59 per cent said untidiness and clutter made them feel tense. click here
