Wed. night, June 21st, a majority of state senators defeated (23-27) a bold attempt on the Senate floor to restore the real Pennsylvania Marriage Protection Amendment, House Bill 2381, as passed earlier by an overwhelming vote in the PA House. The "Gordner Amendment" would have protected marriage from re-definition AND from alternative "civil unions" being forced on PA. In its current form, the weakened bill could allow civil unions, and Pennsylvanians will have no say in the matter.
Weakened version of HB 2381 - WITHOUT CIVIL UNION PROTECTION.
